RICHARD A. PARENT, PhD, DABT, FATS, RAC, ERT

Dr. Parent founded Consultox, Limited, a toxicology consulting firm, in 1984. He is the former director of two toxicology laboratories: Food & Drug Research Laboratories, Waverly, New York, and Gulf South Research Institute, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During his ten years at Xerox Corporation, Rochester, New York, he instituted and directed their toxicology program. At American Cyanamid Company, Bound Brook, New Jersey, he was involved in research for ten years in organic chemistry.

Dr. Parent received his doctoral degree in organic chemistry with a minor in analytical chemistry in 1963 from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is currently board certified by the American Board of Toxicology and has been re-certified five times since 1981, is certified by the Academy of Toxicological Sciences since 2000, and is also certified in regulatory affairs by the Regulatory Affairs Certification Board. He holds memberships in numerous prestigious scientific societies such as the Society of Toxicology, the European Society of Toxicology (EUROTOX), the American College of Toxicology, the Société Française de Toxicologie and others. He is a member of the editorial boards of several toxicology-related journals and has published more than 86 scientific works and abstracts.

With over 30 years of experience in toxicology and chemistry, Dr. Parent offers expertise in pre-clinical toxicology studies, product safety issues, generic drug impurities, IND/NDA/BLA submissions and legal matters relating to causation.
